Having a beautiful smile is highly desirable for many people and achieving whiter teeth may be easier than you think with our simple bleaching process. It’s safe and quick, with the option to lighten only your upper teeth or both the upper and lower, depending on what shows when you smile. Teeth whitening works on people of all ages and can help to restore the brightness of your smile.
Discolorations can be caused by the staining of teeth, chemical damage or just as part of the natural aging process. In cases of extreme discoloration, crowns or veneers for your teeth may be the only option available. But as the cost of teeth whitening is relatively low, it’s worth a try as the first solution.
The procedure takes about an hour and you’ll be given a custom-made tray that matches your mouth to take home so you can maintain the white smile you have just achieved. We’ll provide you with a special whitening agent that is applied to the clear splints, with only occasional treatment is necessary to maintain your new smile.
WHAT IS THE TEETH WHITENING PROCESS?
First, a special barrier will be placed over your gum tissue and a powerful whitening solution applied to the teeth for up to 15 minutes. The solution will then be rinsed off and reapplied up to four times to achieve the desired results.
During the appointment, an impression is also taken to create a custom-designed mouthguard that you will use at home, along with more whitening agent. This can be used as often as is necessary to retain your desired whiteness, with most people using it 1-4 times per month. Simply place the whitening agent in the tray and place the tray over your teeth to work its magic anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
It’s important to keep in mind that if you have any fillings, crowns or bridges, the whitening process will not affect these areas. However, you can have these restorations replaced to match your new, whiter smile if you desire. You should also be aware that teeth can become sensitive during the whitening process and it’s best to stop the whitening process until they feel better.
You can purchase over-the-counter whitening agents at drug stores and pharmacies but these are far less powerful and may not be strong enough to achieve your desired results.
